I Think I Love My Wife

Nov 4, 2019

In this episode (Prevention instead of mitigation), I discuss relationships and getting married after going through a divorce. I continue my conversation with my friend from episode 8, who’s been recently re-married, and examine his journey towards finding love again.

We discuss the value going to premarital counseling before getting engaged and the types of conversations it sparks. We talk about why it’s critical to find out what's important to your partner and resources that can help you determine where you both are aligned. We explain how essential it is to have your actions match your words. We highlight the benefits of proactively creating systems and processes to help you improve communication and maintain a healthy relationship. We also touch on reasons to do a destination wedding and how witnessing pregnancy can change your views on push gifts.

The book referenced in this episode is called Sacred Search by Gary Thomas. This book helps people understand relationship from a biblical standpoint in a way that can support couples in evaluating whether big rock issues exist or not.
